At Just Energy, we’ve developed a sophisticated process that harnesses the latent energy trapped in household waste:
1. Collection & Segregation: Our first step involves collecting waste and segregating it to separate recyclable materials from organic and non-organic waste. This ensures that we only process what is essential, reducing unnecessary wastage and furthering recycling initiatives.
2. Advanced Conversion: Utilizing state-of-the-art technology, we convert the segregated waste into energy. Depending on the type of waste and its energy content, this could involve methods like anaerobic digestion, gasification, or pyrolysis.
3. Energy Generation: The conversion processes produce gases like methane, which are then used to generate electricity. Not only does this provide a sustainable source of power, but it also reduces greenhouse gas emissions that would have been released if the waste had decomposed in landfills.

We secured the rights to the Tshwane Municipal Waste with a mission in mind: to aid Tshwane in its transformative journey towards becoming a ZERO WASTE GREEN City. This not only ensures efficient waste management but also paves the way for renewable energy sources that benefit both the environment and the community.
Our Commitment to Research
Understanding the significance of our mission, we undertook a comprehensive feasibility study, diving deep into literature and industry insights. The results were promising. Our findings showcased the project’s viability, projecting an indicative Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 16%. This study not only fortified our commitment but also underlined the potential impact our project could have in reshaping Tshwane’s energy landscape.
